PMH Photo Challenge#2 – Reflection
Welcome to the Project Motorhouse Photo Challenge!
Are you under 18 and living in Thanet? Then you are eligible for the Project MotorHouse Photo Challenges where you could win up to £50 for 1st place, or £25 each for two runners up! January’s challenge is REFLECTION. Follow us on Instagram at @pmhramsgate, and tag your photos with #pmhphotochallenge2 to enter (only 2 entries allowed per challenge). The deadline for the competition is midnight on Friday Jan 29tth. Photos taken with any type of camera or phone are allowed. We’ll be judging your photos on criteria such as relevance to the theme, creativity, composition, lighting, and so on. (This is a challenge to practice your photography, not your Photoshop skills or crazy filters, so please no excessive post-production).
Here are some tips and ideas to get you started:
TIP #1
Train your eyes to see reflective surfaces. Once you start looking, you’ll see that reflective surfaces are all around us. Water, glass, mirrors, cars, ice, sunglasses – wherever you are you should easily find reflections.

TIP #2
Mix reflections and reality. Don’t JUST shoot the reflection, but try to combine it with the subject that’s being reflected.

TIP #3
The reflection doesn’t have to be huge – even a small reflection can add interest to a good composition.

TIP #5
Try flipping your photo. Some reflection photos look great turned upside down!
