As part of the Ramsgate Festival of Sound, Project MotorHouse’s young photographers created visual and sonic portraits of people who use the harbour. The visual portraits went up on boards around the harbour together with QR codes which connect to the sonic portraits on Ramsgate Radio.
This year’s theme for the Ramsgate Festival of Sound is Tales from the Sea and in keeping with that theme, our young photographers headed out to the harbour to take photographs of and collected stories from some of the people who regularly use Ramsgate’s beautiful Georgian harbour. The photographers are aged 14 to 16 and worked under the guidance of photographer Tim Topple. Ryan Richards of Ramsgate Radio helped them collect the stories and the editing is by Filipe Gomes. The project is supported by the Kent County Council Reconnect Programme.
